After you complete identity verification for a student selected for Verification Tracking Groups V4 or V5, you must submit your results through the Verification of Identity tool in the FAFSA Partner Portal. You must submit within 60 days of when you request documentation from the student or 30 days from when you become aware that a change has occurred.
The “How to Report Verification of Identity Results” microlearning provides an overview of the verification reporting requirements and contains a walkthrough video of how to use the Identity Verification tool in the FAFSA Partner Portal. This tool is available for both the 2025–26 and 2026–27 award years.
To enroll in this training, log into the FSA Training Center at fsatraining.ed.gov and select “Learning Tracks” from the black main menu bar and then select “Aid Application Process” from the drop-down menu. Choose “2025–26 Verification” and then select “How to Report Verification of Identity Results.” You can take just the microlearning or, if you’d like a refresher on all aspects of complying with verification and conflicting information requirements, you can take the entire learning track.
