Schools, state grant agencies, and third-party servicers receive both Federal Tax Information (FTI) and FAFSA data and must be aware of the permitted and prohibited uses of this information.
The FSA Training Center is pleased to highlight a learning track consisting of two courses, one focused on FTI and one focused on FAFSA data. After completing this track, you will be able to identify data elements considered FTI and FAFSA data, to explain allowed and prohibited use and redisclosure, and to properly safeguard the information.
To enroll in the training, log into the FSA Training Center at fsatraining.ed.gov and select “Learning Tracks” from the black main menu bar. Then select the “Aid Application Process” category to enroll in the track on FTI and FAFSA Data.
