Financial Aid Training for New Staff—At All Levels!

Are you brand new to the field of financial aid?  Or perhaps just new to the Financial Aid Director role?  Either way, the FSA Training Center has a number of learning opportunities to get you the information you need to get started on the right foot!

FSA Basic Training for New Staff

This comprehensive course is designed for newly hired, entry-level financial aid staff to gain a basic understanding of all the parts and pieces of Title IV aid administration from the student aid application process to Return of Title IV funds. The course is self-paced, takes 20-30 hours to complete, and contains over 30 lessons and a dozen hands-on checkpoint activities. 

Financial Aid Orientation

This learning track covers basic financial aid concepts, roles and responsibilities, and an overview of the Title IV aid programs and process. In addition, the track contains a how-to video series which will teach you how to find and use important resources on the Knowledge Center.

Primer for New FA Directors

This learning track explores the role of the Financial Aid Director with a focus on getting oriented to the position as quickly as possible.  Practical job aids and advice are offered for establishing a confident presence in the new supervisory role, building networks on campus, and staying informed to stay in compliance. This is a helpful course for a new director or someone who aspires to the position.
