DIRECT LOAN LEARNING TRACKS

This learning track explores the concepts and formula calculations when awarding Direct Loans in a program of study that is offered in clock hours, nonterm credit hours, or  in nonstandard terms than are not substantially equal (NSE). These programs must use a borrower-based academic year (BBAY3) to monitor annual loan limit and construct the loan period. The track contains three lessons and an assessment.

This learning track explores the concepts and formula calculations when awarding Direct Loans in a program of study that is offered in credit hours in standard terms, or in nonstandard terms that are substantially equal and all terms are at least 9 weeks in length (SE9W). These programs are eligible to use either a standard academic year (SAY) or a borrower-based academic year (BBAY1) to monitor annual loan limit and construct the loan period. The track contains three lessons and an assessment.

This learning track explores the regulations that limit the number of payment periods in which a student can borrow from the Subsidized Direct Loan program and that may impact the subsidized interest benefits on a student's existing Subsidized Direct Loans.
